Cat Quilt And Raffle Prize.

This is what I am doing in between Aussie Hero stuff. Putting together a very scrappy cat quilts using polar fleece on one side and all the left over strings on the other. When I have enough I will assemble them and donate them to our local animal rescue centre.
This is the other part of the raffle prize for our Christmas In July meeting. I have tested it and it is a perfect size to hold a 1 kilo bag of stuffing. My question is, should I put a bag of stuffing in it as well? or will it be too much? along with the sewing machine mat, sewing machine non slip foot pedal mat and the sewing machine cover and matching needle book.

Every year we choose a little Australian charity and this year it is Aussie Hero Quilts and laundry Bags. I am so happy!

Sewing, Friends And Shopping.

Yesterday I had a lovely catch up with my friend and then in the afternoon we went to Savers in Greensborough. My friend bought me this lovely large leather purple bag and I bought the cotton drill fabric and the blank cards for my Aussie Hero stuff.
Highlights have been added to the silhouette and stitched down with clear thread.
This is how I am quilting the blocks. The key fabric is the back and the fronts will be different blocks of blue.
When the blocks are put together they will be turned 1/4 to join like this. It gives a simple movement to the quilt.

Travels And Shopping.

I have just come back from a visit to my daughter and the re opening of the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery BRAG featuring my Son In Laws mother, Rosemary Valadon. A wonderful experience indeed. A Great turn out.
If you would like to know more about her and her works this is a great read.

I had a wonderful couple of days catching up, and a little retail therapy too!
Purple boots! It just goes to show, the perfect thing turns up when you least expect it! We had an hour to kill whilst waiting for my daughter to pick us up from the train station in Lithgow NSW. I found these, the store is called Rockstar, 121 Main Street Lithgow 2790 (02) 6351 4001
www.facebook.com/rockstarshoplithgow
These boots had only just come into the store the day before. Leather made in Portugal. It felt lovely to wear something new to go with my outfit for such an important occasion. They have a fleecy linng so they are so comfortable and warm.

I also I bought these tea towels from Dimmeys for Aussie Heroes laundry bags and quilts. Aussie Heroes is never far from my mind.
