Sewing Room Complete.

Bought this from the Brotherhood of St Laurence in Greensbsorough this morning. Was $20, marked down to $5 adjustable swivel chair, Freedom brand.
Nothing wrong with it at all, just a little dusty. A quick wipe over and it is done. Now I can have a maximum of 3 people sewing in my sewing room at a time. How cool is that!

Quilt In Progress.

Today I am assembling the quilt blocks into a quilt. First I did the two outside rows, (sorry about the poor quality of the pictures, the lighting is not good in my sewing room due to the weather being overcast).
Now I am putting together the centre panel.
I will then join the 3 rows together and add the binding. This will be finished so that I can post it on Monday.

Shopping And Sewing.

When I posted my parcels off I realised I was down to my last 6 postcards so off to savers and I bought 4 packets of 4 x 6 photo papers. cost, $3 a packet. When I got home I counted how many I had and the total was 210 photo papers. I have printed on 100 of them a postcard back on one side and a picture of Australia on the other.
I always check out the fabric section too, not that I was actually in need of fabric for bags at the moment but I could not go past this, 100% cotton printed in Australia, Just perfect for bags.
What I am working on at the moment. An Aussie Hero quilt. This one is for a purple and white quilt. I am doing the quilt as you go blocks and the back is the purple and white bandanas that was donated to me, just perfect!

The other emery boards have arrived this morning, Just lovely. All in the drawer along with the cards and the pens and individual wipes ready to turn into gift packs.
Today I have been busy cutting and sorting the fabric into 5 sets of 4 laundry bags ready to sew. I work this way so that each laundry bag per box is different.
This is what I have sewn today 3 sets of 4 laundry bags partially done. I will take a short break and then finish them off for posting tomorrow. I will take a picture as usual when they are done. This means I have a total of  32 bags before I need to get some more fabric. Nice!

Wedding.

I went to a wedding yesterday, What a wonderful, magical day! I have known Daniel for most of his life, (since he was about 5.) He has turned into a really lovely man indeed. His wife, Rhiannon is just the sweetest, I know they will be very happy indeed.
I went to their engagement party too and met some fabulous young ladies then who have been following me on facebook since that time and because of that I will be having an adult Crafternooners day on the 3rd Sunday of each month! They want to learn do lots of things! This is going to be so much fun! Just another way of paying it forward for the next generation, we will be making dresses for Dress a girl around the world, making laundry bags and quilt blocks for Aussie Heroes and capes for Angels for the Forgotten and with that comes skills to make things for themselves. They too have made the promise of making something for themselves, something for a gift box and something for charity.
I will keep you posted!

It Is All About The Cards.

 Stretchy Tilli.
It is all about the cards today cutting and pasting. This is what I am making. These cards are for Aussie Hero Quilt and laundry bag charity, those that read my blog know all about it but new readers may not. (The link is on the right hand side of my blog).
Today I am transforming plain blank cards into hand made cards for Aussie Heroes and each laundry bag gets a little package from me along with their laundry bag (and now quilts too).
Plenty of printing happens here, (my hand writing is atrocious) although I did purchase my own handwriting font which I love!
First I wrote a blurb about myself and why I make the bags, then I have a page of my e-mail address and my postal address. All will have them cut and glued inside the card along with a couple of jokes  from the books bought from Savers and an Aussie flag sticker for colour and on the front is either a word search or a crossword with the answers on the back of the card. Just now I came up with the idea of scanning the answers to the crosswords so that now I can use more of the puzzles! I wish I thought of that before!
What are you doing today?
