Making Cord.

An up date on yesterdays cord making. Earlier on today I realised that I could make this cord even quicker by using a knitting Nancy and so I took off two if the pins and left 2 pins on. Much quicker cording.

Spotlight Sale Yesterday.

Yesterday I went to Spotlight with two $10 vouchers, One Birthday voucher and one from their own magazine, They also had 40% off their fabric so I chose these, Laundry bags will be fabulous!
They also had this on sale too, Moda Vera Gypsy at 50c a ball. As soon as I saw this I knew what i wanted to do, Make my own cord.
Really really easy, Using two double pointed needles cast on 2 stitches, knit, slide the stitches back to the front, don't turn the needles and then knit.
Keep doing that until you have the length you need. cast off. weave the ends in and you have your cord. Very easy and very cheap.

I did some sewing and sorting out of fabrics for the laundry bags, The pile of fabric has been sorted into inner, outer and the top strip of the bag for the cord and then put into sets of 4 ready to sew. One lot sewed.
Then in the afternoon I went shopping with my husband to look for shoes, (I have always found this a very difficult thing to do and since I was down to zero shoes it was about time before winter came). I was very very pleasantly surprised to find that there are plenty of shoes out there that fit! The brown shoes are from Rivers, $20. the other two pairs are from a shop in Greensborough shopping centre leather $20 each. so 3 pairs for $60. I am actually looking forward to winter now! and I won't have to shop for shes for another 6 years at least!
This is what I am doing in the evening, alternating between knitting and crochet squares of the same size.

The last time we met the girls went home with some buttons and trims with the task of doing something imaginative with them. Look at this fantastic denim waistcoat. Love what she did!
Birds in the making. They had a lovely day and although not quite finished, the birds are well on their way. A great time was had by all. Next meeting we will be making a nest and eggs. They went home with the pattern and now know how to back stitch, blanket stitch and ladder stitch.

Fabric, Makes and Kitties.

On Saturday a friend of mine gave me this wonderful fabric for the Dress a Girl Around the World Charity. Thank you so much, Wonderful.
12 Laundry bags ready to be posted.
Meggie playing with fabric. One of her favourite things to do is play with the edges that I cut off the quilt covers I buy from the op shop. I have to watch that she does not get too tangled. The sound of fabric getting ripped does not faze her, She knows what the sound means, Play time!
